In the highly connected world we live in it can be hard to determine when we are being taken advantage of. It’s important we be vigilant to protect ourselves and our hard earned assets from those who would try to exploit. Of course, as with all things, this tends to be easier said than done. We get used to our routines and when something happens that needs to be addressed immediately, we do not always take the care we should. It is always good to remain cautious about giving out your personal information for any reason.
As a business in the construction industry, this is a subject of which we have to stay informed. There always seems to be a new way in which scammers can look like a legitimate business. Contacting these “businesses” can potentially lead to your information being compromised. As a hard working small business our customers are what allow us to be able to do what we do, and we hope that they would not have to experience this unfortunate deception.
So how does TK Ventures handle credit cards over the phone?
We want to make it very clear that we will never ask for your credit card information over the phone when you make an initial contact call. If someone claiming to be TK Ventures ever asks for your credit card number before coming out to the job it is a fraudulent number. There are only two instances where we will take a credit card payment over the phone:
1. If you have a singed proposal for work to be completed by TK Ventures, which means that most likely we have already met with you once in person.
2. We have completed a job for you and you were not available at completion to make the payment in person.
If one of those two is the case the transaction will be done by Tom Hawkins, the owner and operator. The information is never written down and the transaction will be completed on his device after which you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
The best option to make sure that you always have the right contact is to obtain it from our website, not online search results. If you would like to read a little more about this issue, you can do so in this article.
